Tom Martin's Hands on Healing web page

Welcome to my hands-on healing web page.

Hands-on healing is a non-invasive therapy where the healer acts as a channel for subtle natural energies to be absorbed by the person receiving the healing.

Sometimes a problem can be resolved in one session. Typically, however, several sessions are required depending on the uniqueness of each case. Some chronic conditions need to be treated on an ongoing basis to help prevent further degeneration .

Hands on Healing

A hands-on healing session is normally carried out with the person lying on a treatment table (see picture). However, a person can be treated with equal effectiveness while sitting down (see picture). A typical treatment session will last about 45 minutes.

Some of the more common experiences reported during a healing session are:

  • Heat coming from the healers hands.

  • A gentle tingling sensation.

  • A pulse below the healers hands as if he is tapping the person.

  • The person’s body feels as if it is lighter or heavier.
  • A sensation of energy flowing in various parts of the body.

  • The person may fall asleep due to the relaxing nature of the healing.

This last point needs re-emphasising. The relaxation experienced during a healing can be quite significant and can last for some time after the session is over. Personally I find hands-on healing to be one of the most effective ways to reduce stress and anxiety. Due to the reduction in stress all the systems in the body have the opportunity to begin working more efficiently. So what conditions is hands-on healing good for treating?

  • Hands-on healing has been shown to help with most conditions.
  • In particular, it can be very effective, and I have extensive experience, in treating the following conditions.

      • Stress, Anxiety

      • Musco-Skeletal (muscle, tendons and joints) problems

      • All Sport injuries

Having started healing a decade ago the experience I have gained has allowed me to assess what hands-on healing is good at treating and when some other approach, possibly in conjunction with healing, is more appropriate. For example, symptoms associated with chronic conditions can be eased using healing on a regular basis but a more lasting solution lies in treating (www.johnnymartin.org.uk) the underlying causes (i.e. emotional imbalance, sub-conscious imbalances, biochemical imbalances etc) which are at the root of the problem.

A question I am often asked is whether “faith” is required for healing to work. My experience has been that the lack of faith does not affect the healing. However, I would like to stress that a person can deliberately or intentionally block the energies.

Scientific evidence

By training I am a mathematician and therefore do not easily accept phenomena outside the bounds of modern science. The fact is there is now significant evidence which is growing all the time that shows healing to be effective1. Several references are given at the foot of the web page for those interested to investigate further whether healing is effective and how it operates (i.e. the mechanism by which it works).

Please contact me by telephone or e-mail if you require any clarification about whether you could be helped by hands-on healing. If you think you may be helped why not book a healing session. Most of my clients are treated in their own homes saving them the hassle of travelling. I am based in the central belt of Scotland.
